USMEF to take US beef on the road in China

20/09/2017
Following China’s decision in May to allow imports of beef from the US, the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) has unveiled plans for its first major marketing events in the country.

The organisation is to hold a trade show in each of China’s three largest cities in order to bring Chinese buyers and US exporters together. The events will take place in Beijing (September 25), Shanghai (September 27) and Guangzhou (September 29).

Joel Haggard, USMEF senior vice president for the Asia Pacific, has said he expects 300 to 400 buyers to attend each event alongside around 20 US companies. They will take place under the banner ‘US Beef Roadshow’.
