USMEF announces successor to long-time CEO

The US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) used its annual Spring Conference in Arlington, Virginia on May 24 to announce that long-time president and CEO Philip Seng will leave his roles this year.

He will be replaced by Dan Halstrom, currently USMEF vice president for marketing, He will become president on September 1 and CEO on December 1.

USMEF said Mr Seng will remain at the federation until July 2018 as CEO emeritus to oversee the transition. 

Mr Halstrom joined USMEF in 2010 as senior vice president for marketing, a role which has seen him oversee promotional activities for US red meet across the organisation’s 18 international offices. He was previously vice president for international sales at JBS.
