Hermes and Birkin settle croc handbag issue

Leathergoods company Hermes has said Jane Birkin is satisfied with the group’s policies and is happy to have her name associated with its handbags.

A dispute arose in July when the former actress said a PETA video allegedly showing malpractice at a crocodile supplier emerged.

Hermes said it had identified an "isolated irregularity" at a crocodile farm in Texas and had warned the farm it would cease any relations should it continue to neglect its recommended procedures.

"Jane Birkin has advised us that she is satisfied by the measures taken by Hermes," said Hermes.
