02/09/2015
Luxury leathergoods group Hermes has reported turnover increased 21% to €2.3 billion at current exchange rates in the first half of the year compared with the same period last year.

However, taking into account currency impacts, growth was 9%.

Sales grew 20% in Japan, 7% in the rest of Asia, 10% in the Americas and 7% in Europe.
The growth of leathergoods and saddlery (+14%) was “remarkable” said the company, supported by increased of the production capacities in Charente and Isère.

It said: “Despite economic, geopolitical and monetary uncertainties around the world, the group is maintaining its medium-term objective of increasing the turnover at constant rates in the area of 8%.

"For 2015, operational profitability should be lower than 2014 (31.5%) owing to the negative impact of currency fluctuations.”
