New Hermes leathergoods factory helps drive revenue rise in third quarter
Luxury leathergoods brand Hermes has reported a 19% rise in revenues for the nine months to the end of September to €3.4 billion.
In the third quarter, sales rose in all regions: they were up 19% in Japan, 5% in China, which gained from the opening of the Maison Hermès in Shanghai, and 7% in the Americas.
The French group reiterated that growth in leathergoods and saddlery products (+12%) was sustained by the increase in production capacities at the two new sites in Isère and Charente.
In Franche-Comté, a new workshop in Héricourt is now up and running and investments on a second site are ongoing.
It expects revenue growth at constant exchange rates of 8% for 2015.
