Pressure group buys shares in Levi’s

26/03/2019
Activist group PETA has bought shares in denim company Levi Strauss & Co, which will enable it to speak at annual meetings, in an attempt to pressure it to change the patches on the back of jeans from leather to plastic.

PETA often uses false claims to slur leather. Our sister site, Nothing to Hide, was established to correct some of these inaccuracies, as well as the falsehoods that persist in mainstream media. It is freely available as a resource to journalists, the wider industry and the public. Leading experts across the globe tackle issues including waste, chrome, meat and deforestation.
