Jacket evokes 1930s Einstein with sheep leather and vintage scent
A reproduction of Albert Einstein’s famous leather jacket, meticulously reproduced by Levi’s Vintage Clothing label, has nearly sold out within days of becoming available.

The 100% sheep leather jacket is modeled after the Levi’s Menlo Cossack Jacket worn by Mr Einstein in the 1930s, which Levi’s acquired in 2016 at a Christie’s auction.

Available in a limited run of 500, it comes with a bottle of fragrance developed by Brooklyn-based perfume house D.S & Durga. The Einstein-inspired scent is described as a warm blend of burley pipe tobacco, papyrus manuscripts and vintage leather.

Within two days of becoming available, the $1200 jacket was sold out online in every size except small. This is the second reissue of the Einstein jacket and comes in black; the original reissue in Spring 2018 was a mid-brown leather.
