COMESA-LLPI helps Zambian companies attend trade fair

Representatives of the COMESA-Leather and Leather Products Institute (LLPI) recently attended the 53rd Zambia International Trade Fair (June 28-July 4) as part of its efforts to promote the leather value chain in the COMESA region. 

COMESA-LLPI also sponsored six export-focused SMEs from Zambia’s leather sector so that they could attend the event, which took place in Ndola. It gave them the opportunity to showcase their products, assess the competitiveness of the market, and meet potential buyers and suppliers. 

There were also a number of participants from Zimbabwe, including the Prestige Tannery. Representatives from this company used the fair to assess the demand for finished leather. It has recently started talks to invest in a vegetable tanning facility in Zambia.
