18/04/2017
Representatives from the COMESA-Leather and Leather Products Institute (LLPI) visited Madagascar at the end of March on a fact-finding mission.

Professor Mekonnen Hailemariam and Harrison Mungai led the visit, which aimed to gather information to be used to launch projects that will strengthen the country’s leather value chain. The focus of these projects will be on enhancing value addition, increasing productivity and improving quality and market access.

They held meetings with government officials, private sector players and a local training institution. They also visited various businesses from across the leather value chain.
