16/06/2017
The COMESA-Leather and Leather Products Institute (LLPI) has held a workshop in the Democratic Republic of Congo to assess the country’s strategy to boost its leather value chain.

The event was organised by DR Congo’s Ministry for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the help of COMESA and the European Union (EU). It took place in a hotel in Kinshasa, the country’s capital, from May 26 to 27.

There were more than 100 participants, including members of different government ministries, representatives from the EU’s office in Kinshasa and SMEs from different parts of the leather value chain.

The country’s leather value chain strategy was examined by experts from COMESA-LLPI and then validated with a few comments and recommendations.
