Initiative targets African agribusiness

The Africa Agribusiness Academy (AAA) plans to improve the continent’s agribusiness sector by improving the links between farmers and entrepreneurs within the industry and promoting collaboration between companies to increase access to important market information.

Speaking at a meeting in the Rwandan capital Kigali, AAA chairman Abraham Huijsman said that the initiative is already active in six African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi and Ethiopia) and has seen his organisation engage with over a million farmers.

The AAA was founded in 2010 and is a Pan-African business platform which supports small and medium-sized agri-food businesses in order to increase food security in Africa.
