Agribusiness event to take place in Northern Ghana

21/04/2016

An agribusiness and investment event in the city of Tamale on May 5 will mark the launch of the Market Development Programme for Northern Ghana (MADE).

Funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), MADE is a four-year programme which aims to promote growth and reduce poverty in the north of the country.

MADE has partnered with Deloitte to organise the event which will serve as a platform to address challenges as well as unearth and promote investment opportunities in Agribusiness in Northern Ghana.

Augustine Adongo, Team Leader for the MADE programme said, “There has been a long-standing developmental gap between the potentially rich North and the resource-demanding South. With the North unable to meet the demands of the South, the South resorts to outsourcing raw materials internationally and regionally. The MADE agribusiness event therefore serves as a springboard to connect the two sectors of Ghana and facilitate development, while presenting appealing opportunities for visionary investors.”
