Assoconciatori stresses need for new leather certification

Tuscan tanners association Assoconciatori presented its ideas for a new certification scheme and a new event that connects fashion houses directly with tanners at a meeting of the sector on November 20.

Assoconciatori president Franco Donati, who has been pushing the idea of a special certification for some time, told delegates it would reflect the district’s commitment to quality.

He added that it would certify “what is behind our skins, ie compliance with the strictest parameters in terms of environmental impact and industrial performance”.
