Paris-based luxury goods group Kering has appointed Thierry Marty (pictured) as president of Kering north and south-east Asia Pacific, inclusive of Japan, South Korea, south-east Asia, Australia and New Zealand. 

Mr Marty, who is based in Seoul and has lived in Asia for more than 20 years, will report directly to group managing director, Jean-François Palus. 

Commenting on the appointment, Mr Palus stated that he was delighted to welcome Mr Marty to the Kering senior team.

Emphasising the new hire's extensive luxury experience in the region, Mr Palus said that he especially welcomed the businessman's contribution to “reinforcing” Kering’s presence in the markets for which he will now be responsible.
