Fosun capitalises on Lanvin name in rebranding
Shanghai-headquartered Fosun Fashion Group has rebranded to Lanvin Group, attributing its decision to the desire to capture the “spirit and ethos” of Lanvin’s eponymous founder, Jeanne Lanvin.
The group said embracing Ms Lanvin’s values of entrepreneurship, creativity, openness and flair for life would be central to its continued success as it enters the next phase of its development, both within China and elsewhere across the globe.
Chairman and co-founder of what is now Lanvin Group, Guo Guangchang, commented: “Lanvin Group is set to become the next in a line of industry champions. The group is well positioned to exploit the resilient demand for luxury goods globally, especially in China, where we have unparalleled access and track record in growing international consumer brands in the world’s largest consumer market.”
At present, the group’s brands include Lanvin, Sergio Rossi, Wolford, St John Knits and Caruso.
During a recent funding round, Lanvin Group secured strategic investment from Hong Kong-headquartered footwear manufacturing group Stella International, Japanese corporation Itochu and Chinese private equity group Xizhi Capital.
