Chanel restricts purchases in exclusivity bid
As the resale market heats up, luxury brands are increasingly taking measures to protect the air of exclusivity around their products.

Chanel, known for its price increases from time to time (three times so far this year), has recently taken steps to limit the number of times customers can purchase certain leathergoods styles every year.

So far, only the popular Classic Flap and Coco Handle have been affected on the handbag side, with purchases now restricted to one of each of these styles per year.

Regarding small leathergoods, customers are now no longer able to buy more than two of each product each year.

According to reports, Hermès has also taken similar measures in recent months. The same design can now only be purchased twice a year by customers of the house.
