JLIA hopes world record will boost industry
The youth division of the Japan Leather and Leather Goods Industries Association (JLIA) secretariat, based in Tokyo, was recently awarded a Guinness world record for a surprising endeavour.
In a bid to raise awareness and good feeling towards Japanese leather and leathergoods both domestically and around the world, the group achieved the record for the greatest number of videos of handwritten notes posted to Meta (formerly known as Facebook) in a single hour, JLIA said.
In total, the team managed to post 253 times, three times more than their record-beating target of 250.
Those who participated are invited to purchase an official participation certificate until December 20, whereas those who did not are welcome to buy a commemorative t-shirt up until the same date.
