17/08/2018
The organisation said this event took place under its mandate to develop the leather sectors in its members states and in Africa in general.
The participants, mostly drawn from government ministries and the private sector, came from 12 countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eretria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
The objective of the workshop was to improve the ability of members states to support businesses in their respective leather industries. It included an activity that saw the participants split into three groups before creating a business plan related to a selected institution.
At the end of the training, it was agreed that the participants would pass on the knowledge they had gained to the leather industry stakeholders in their countries.
