Italian companies to lend their support to Tanzania’s leather sector
Two Italian companies, tanning machinery provider Italprogetti and shoe machinery specialist Toscana Machine Calzature (TMC), have signed an agreement to invest in two leather factories in Moshi, Tanzania.

Local media reports have said they will invest $24.5 million to establish the facilities, which they will jointly manage with the Karanga Leather Industries Company. 

One factory will be dedicated to shoemaking and the other to leather tanning. They will be constructed in an industrial zone within Karanga Prison. Completion is expected within 16 months.
