JBS establishes compliance department to focus on ethics

Meatpacking and tanning group JBS has set up a compliance department with the aim of “strengthening company values, focusing on ethics and integrity”.

The Brazilian company has hired Marcel Fonseca from GE Healthcare to lead the division.

He said: “We want governance without losing agility or changing our fundamental approach, which is based on simplicity. We will start with risk awareness, leadership engagement, risk and priority mapping in each area and define preventive or corrective measures.”
