Twelve tanneries prepare to take part in design initiative at Francal
Twelve Brazilian tanneries are preparing special samples that, together, will form an exhibit at the 2015 Francal exhibition, which takes place in São Paulo in July.
Under an initiative called Design Na Pele, the tanneries will use the project to show off their creativity. The project is part of a wider programme that Brazilian tanning industry association CICB is working on with export promotions agency Apex-Brasil to promote Brazilian leather across the world.
CICB president, J said in the build-up to Francal that Design Na Pele represents “an opportunity to show our fashion and design professionals, as well as our industry and opinion makers, how creative we can be”.
The 12 tanneries involved are:
AplicColour
Curtume Rusan
Courovale
Couros Bom Retiro
Fuga Couros
Cortume Krumenauer
Indústria de Peles Minuano
Romeu Couros
Couroquimica
Nova Kaeru
JBS Couros
Curtume Moderno
Visitors to Francal, which runs from July 6-9, will be able to view the articles each tannery has prepared and to attend, on July 8, workshops on incorporating leather into designs delivered by designers Heloísa Crocco and Ronaldo Fraga.
