Three tanners awarded first Premiere Vision Leather prizes
Following a reorganisation of the Paris-based Premiere Vision sourcing event, organisers have chosen three tanneries as the first leather-sector winners of the PV awards.

Now in its seventh year, the awards have previously focused on textiles, voted for by judges within the fashion and textiles industries.

However, since bringing Le Cuir a Paris under the Premiere Vision umbrella and renaming it Premiere Vision Leather, it was decided the awards should be expanded and judges this year included Laurent Lepainteur, director of leather development at Saint Laurent Paris.

The PV Leather Grand Jury Prize was awarded to the Alric tannery in France for “the most exceptional, symbolic and pertinent leather of the season”.

Italy’s Russo di Casandrino scooped the PV Leather Handle Prize for “the leather combining the most amazing tactile and behavioural qualities”.

Finally, Italian tannery Fedi Silvano took the PV Leather Imagination Prize for “the most daring, original and amazing leather in terms of decoration, technique, finishing, innovation or technology”.

Premiere Vision Leather takes place between September 15 and 17 in Paris.
