Poor power supply deters investors in Kenyan tannery
Investors in a Kenyan tannery and abattoir have been deterred because of poor power supply in the area, according to local press.
Kenya Power relies on diesel-powered generators to produce electricity for Mandera County as it is not connected to the national grid and it suffers regular blackouts.
Governor Ali Roba said: "If we are unable to supply sufficient power for household use, how shall we attract investors willing to come to Mandera?”
