‘Strong momentum’ in the US as carmakers report record July
A number of carmakers have announced record figures for July and spoken of “strong momentum”.

BMW brand vehicles increased 2.1% during the month to 26,970.

Porsche Cars North America announced sales of 4,730 vehicles, up 10% over July 2014.

Mercedes-Benz USA reported record sales for the Mercedes-Benz brand at 27,526, increasing 1.2%.

Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America also had record months: Hyundai sales of 71,013 were up 6% while Kia sales rose to 56,311.

Ludwig Willisch, CEO of BMW of North America, said: "July kept the momentum going that we've seen throughout the year, producing another strong result for BMW and clearly showing the trend toward our luxury Sports Activity Vehicles." 

Stephen Cannon, CEO of MB USA, echoed the sentiment: "We are seeing strong momentum in the marketplace as we move through the third quarter.”
