Tanning machinery maker integral to upskilling Tuscan youth

Representatives from Italy’s CM Tannery Machines will discuss with local teachers the best way to pass manufacturing skills to future generations during an event at its production site on November 22.

The maker of tanning machinery, based in the heart of tanning district Santa Croce sull´Arno, helps to train future technicians and entrepreneurs in the sector.

CM owner Ivo Mancini told local press: "In the past 11 months, my company has hosted about 20 young people and some have already found work in the area.

"My goal is to do everything possible so that Tuscan craftsmanship, which is envied worldwide, does not disappear.”

He has invited the Tuscany region councillor for education, work and training, Cristina Grieco, to the event.
