Gruppo Mastrotto to invest in new Santa Croce facility

21/06/2018
Leather manufacturer Gruppo Mastrotto has announced its intention to invest around €15 million in a new facility in Santa Croce sull’Arno.

The group has released few details about what it will make, but it has confirmed that the site will cover 12,000 square-metres and will employ 50 people. Its intention is to start production there in the early part of 2019.

One of the group’s founders, Santo Mastrotto, told local media that the new plant will complement the facilities it already runs in the Arzignano cluster in north-east Italy and will operate to high environmental standards. For example, all vehicles used to transport materials in and around the Santa Croce tannery will be electric and the factory will have a substantial solar energy plant.
