Santa Croce tannery founder dies

Mario Brotini, co-founder of Italian tannery Conceria Brotini Mario, has died aged 84.

He worked in the industry for 50 years before selling the business to the Caponi family.

Mr Brotini was passionate about football, according to local reports.

He managed the Santa Croce sull'Arno football team, Cuoiopelli, and was later named honorary president.
