Rising production costs prompt Hermès to raise prices

In recent years, the brand has made strong efforts to reshore production of its products, which include several exclusive and much sought-after handbag designs.
Mr Dumas made his comments after Hermès confirmed revenue of just under €6 billion in 2018. This represented growth of 10% at constant exchange rates compared to the previous year.
He also revealed that the group is yet to see any effect from the ongoing trade dispute between the US and China, which had caused concern that demand from Chinese consumers could suffer. “There is no trend change at this stage,” Mr Dumas said.
