New Hermès boutique to open in New York City
Luxury group Hermès will open a new store in New York City on April 5. Rather appropriately given that leathergoods are an important part of its offering, the store is located in an area known as the Meatpacking District. 

The company said the opening of this new store, its 36th location in the US, shows its “unwavering confidence in the US market”. 

It takes up two floors of a building on the area’s Gansevoort Street. The aesthetic of the store has been designed to fit in with the industrial feel of the neighbourhood, with leather featuring. The brand’s leathergoods will be located on the first floor, with its footwear products displayed on the second. 

To celebrate the opening, the store’s display windows will feature installations by US sculptor Ruby Wescoat.
