First-half growth of 11% for Hermès

Luxury group Hermès has announced sales revenues for the first half of 2018 of more than €2.8 billion, an increase of 11% compared to the same period last year. Its net profit on this figure was €708 million, an increase of 17% year on year.

Chief executive, Axel Dumas, said on announcing the results: “Hermès achieved an exceptional performance in the first half of the year.” He said the group has “a strong model”, based on the know-how, creativity and dedication of its workers.

Hermès’s leathergoods and saddlery business grew by 8% to reach more than €1.4 billion. This means leathergoods contributed almost exactly 50% of group revenues.
