Leather industries to receive tax breaks in Nigeria

15/08/2017
The Nigerian government has published a list of 27 industries that will receive tax breaks under new guidelines approved by the Executive Council of the Federation.

Companies that are granted ‘pioneer status’ will be exempt from corporate income tax payments for at least three years, and the government hopes this will encourage investment in underdeveloped sectors.

Tanneries, leather footwear manufacturers, luggage and handbags makers, plus meat producers and processors feature on the list.
