Lear opens leather cutting plant in Hungary

Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation has officially opened a new leather cutting plant in the Hungarian town of Szolnok.

The event was attended by Kent Maas, Lear vice president of global manufacturing, and John Staines, European operations director. Hungary’s minister of national economy, Mihály Varga, was also present.

The new plant, which was completed in December 2015, is located in the town’s industrial park and represents a $20 million investment in the region.

With our continued growth, we are pleased to invest and expand our production capacity in Szolnok, Hungary," said Ray Scott, executive vice president of Lear.
