Record sales for Lear in Q2

Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation reported record sales of $4.7 billion in the second quarter of 2016, a 2% increase on the same period of last year. Net income for the quarter was $282 million.

Lear, which also supplies electrical systems to the automotive industry, achieved sales of $3.6 billion in its seating segment, 2% up on the second quarter of 2015.

Speaking about this area of the business, Lear president and CEO, Matt Simoncini said: “we have received outstanding customer response to our craftsmanship initiative and our new 'Intelligent Seat’.”
