Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation will construct a new and expanded regional headquarters for Asia-Pacific in the Yangpu district of Shanghai to further develop the company’s business in China and throughout Asia.

The plans for the new location include expanded administrative infrastructure, a product and technology centre, a product development zone with state-of-the-art engineering and testing equipment and a Lear innovation studio for Asia.

"The Asia-Pacific region is the most strategically important region for the global automotive industry, and Shanghai is a major centre for automotive activity,” said Matt Simoncini, Lear president and CEO.

“Our new regional headquarters complex in Shanghai will support industry-leading product development, testing and customer service in one convenient location,” he added.
