Lear stimulates creative seat design ideas

Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation has established a new team that will work with carmakers in the early stages of the design process to provide tailored solutions to their seating needs. 

The Crafted by Lear team aims to help customers “bring their most imaginative seat designs into production”. Based at Lear’s Centre for Craftmanship, it will contain experienced seating design and engineering professionals. 

"Car buyers are becoming more selective than ever about interiors," said Raymond Scott, president of Lear Seating. "Seats obviously play a large role in the overall appearance, quality and comfort of interiors, and our premium service can give our automotive customers a unique approach to achieve the best solutions."

He added that the initiative is in a pilot phase and will focus on three premium projects. They will launch between 2019 and 2021. The service will cover a range of vehicles.
