Bridge of Weir awarded for manufacturing excellence

UK-based tannery Bridge of Weir has been recognised for manufacturing at the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

Bridge of Weir managing director Karen Marshall said: “Many of the world’s leading car manufacturers choose our Renfrewshire-manufactured leather for their vehicles, and I’m delighted that we have won this award here at home in Scotland. Our manufacturing team, and ultimately the Fine Scottish Leather product from Bridge of Weir, make us all very proud.”

Renfrewshire Chamber CEO Bob Davidson added: “The Scottish Leather Group has been a very supportive member of the Chamber for many years.  Congratulations to Bridge of Weir Leather in winning the Manufacturing ROCCO award – always one of the toughest to win due to the high calibre of entrants.”

Earlier this month, SLG-owned Andrew Muirhead & Son celebrated its 175th anniversary with a reception in Glasgow.
