Bridge of Weir supplies leather for Singapore’s first “hypercar”
20/01/2017
The vehicle, named Dendrobium after a type of flower native to Singapore, is being described as the country’s “first-ever hypercar”.
Vanda’s commitment to reducing emissions related to its new car extends to the interior, where it had turned to the Low Carbon Leather from Scottish tanning company Bridge of Weir.
Bridge of Weir classifies its leather as “low carbon” because it has operated a thermal energy plant at its wet-end tannery since 2010. It takes what was previously sent straight to landfill and converts it into energy for heating the recycled water required in the manufacturing process.
