Plea for water treatment plants to boost tanning sector in Karachi

Younus Muhammad Bashir told a Chamber of Commerce meeting that international leather buyers expect tanneries to have the water purifiers as standard, but there is only one in the Korangi zone and they should be set up elsewhere to broaden opportunities.
This would also help minimise pollution in Korangi, he suggested in a report in local press.
