Tannery tours inspire next generation of leather workers

Italian tanning research centre Poteco (Polo Tecnologico Conciario) in Santa Croce sull'Arno has again hosted visits from local school children who took part in Amici per la Pelle (Friends of Leather), a design competition organised by tanners’ association UNIC and leather fair Lineapelle.

Students from Staffoli Middle School and Banti Middle School also visited Nuti Ivo Group and met owners Umberto Nuti and Fabrizio Nuti, president of UNIC.

They discussed the multitude of job opportunities connected to the leather supply chain.

The children’s designs will tour participating schools in the coming weeks.
