Tanning exhibition promotes circularity

An exhibition promoting the beauty of the Italian tanning industry will be hosted at the ADI Design Museum in Milan from 9 to 21 May.

Sponsored by Italian tanning association UNIC, the exhibition debuted at trade fair Lineapelle in September.

It focuses on “a historical example of circularity” with a food by-product turned into a beautiful material and other by-products used by the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Fulvia Bacchi, general manager of UNIC, said: "The Beauty of the Italian Tanning Industry is a project that presents the public with the possibility of learning about the most beautiful leather in the world and who produces it, the Italian tannery.”
