Chinese, Dutch and Japanese latest to learn from Italian tanners

A Chinese delegation from Henan Province was among the latest visitors to the Italian Tanners Association and the Santa Croce-based educational facility Poteco, hoping to learn about the area’s water purification plant and processes.

Poteco is a regular host of visitors from around the world, and was also visited by a group of Dutch footwear and leathergoods professionals as part of a training course by Footwearists, born out of footwear institute SLEM. 

Japanese researchers from the Yano Research Institute and members of the Tanners’ Council of Japan paid a visit to the onsite tannery, aiming to deepen their connections to the Italian leathergoods market.
