Simoncini to leave Lear in 'strongest position in its history'
Lear Corporation, owner of the Eagle Ottawa automotive leather group and one of the world's biggest seating suppliers, has reported a record year of sales and profits, boosted by the acquisition of Spanish rival Grupo Antolin.

Revenues in 2017 reached  $20.5 billion, up 10% from a year ago.

Lear CEO Matt Simoncini said: "We are in the strongest overall competitive position in our history. Our total return to shareholders last year was 35%."

Mr Simoncini will step down from his role on February 28 after five years in the job and 11 in total at the company.
