General Motors recognises Lear as a leading supplier

Automotive seating supplier Lear Corporation has been named one of General Motors’ suppliers of the year for a seventeenth year.

General Motors has been holding an annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony since 1992. This year, it recognised 132 suppliers from 17 countries, the highest number ever. 

Lear’s recognition came in the ‘Complete Seat’ category.

“On behalf of the global Lear team, we are truly honoured to be recognised with this prestigious award from General Motors," said Ray Scott, Lear President and CEO. “I want to congratulate the entire Lear team for their outstanding customer support and especially those that work directly with General Motors."

In 2017, Lear announced it would build a new automotive seat manufacturing facility in Flint, Michigan, near to the assembly plant General Motors operates in the area.
