Morocco keen to emphasise value of leather craftsmanship

03/07/2019
The Moroccan city of Fez will be the location for a new exhibition dedicated to leather craftsmanship. It will run from July 12-21 with the aim of promoting the economic value of the region’s leather sector.

The event is organised by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism and a representative body for artisans in the Fez-Meknes region, located in the north of the country. It is part of a broader initiative to highlight the value of regional craftsmanship.

It is expected to welcome more than 120 leather industry professionals, including artisans and small and medium-sized companies. In addition to the exhibition space, there will be a sales area for leather antiques and a design and leatherwork demonstration area. Leather specialists will lead seminars and round-table discussions, and there will be training workshops for artisans looking to broaden their skills.
