The association was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1957, and has celebrated the milestone this year with a series promoting the achievements of the tanning sector.
José Fernando Bello, CICB's executive president, said: "Our industry has gone through a tremendous evolution, including the start of exports, technological transition, professional qualification and projects aimed at adding value to leather.
"We presented this timeline in three events celebrating our 60 year anniversary, and now we've arrived at the final chapter."
The CICB represents 80% of the country's leather companies.
Brazil produces 40 million hides annually, exporting to more than 80 countries.
