Luxury group Richemont has announced the appointment of Dr Jean-Jacques van Oosten to the newly created role of chief technology officer.

He has held similar positions at a range of companies, including Rewe Digital, Travis Perkins Group, Tesco, Kingfisher and Unilever.

“The creation of the chief technology officer position and Jean-Jacques van Oosten’s appointment reaffirms Richemont’s commitment to meet the demands of today’s environment,” explained Richemont chairman Johann Rupert.

Richemont has also recruited Sophie Guieysse as its new director of Human Resources. She will join the company on October 1, having been advising Dior on the future of luxury in a connected world since 2016. She also spent eight years at LVMH, where she rose to the position of director of human resources.

“These appointments will strengthen significantly the group's ability to address current challenges and bring Richemont into a new era of agility and performance,” Mr Rupert added.
