Richemont increases its focus on leathergoods

Luxury group Richemont has reported sales of €10.98 billion for the year ended March 31, an increase of 8% year on year at constant exchange rates.

The company said this growth was mainly driven by its jewellery business and by solid watch sales.

Richemont’s leathergoods maisons, which include Dunhill and Chloé, are grouped in its ‘Other’ category, which saw a sales dip of 1% during the 12-month period.

In his commentary on the results, company chairman Johann Rupert said Richemont had “further focused on developing our capabilities in leathergoods” during the year. He pointed to Dunhill and Chloé as two brands to have strengthened their “leather and clothing offers”.
