Piquadro expresses interest in Lancel brand

Italian leathergoods company Piquadro is in talks to buy French leathergoods brand Lancel from luxury goods group Richemont, Reuters has reported.

Richemont last attempted to sell Lancel in 2013 but decided to restructure it instead after failing to find a buyer. 

In January, Reuters reported that a source close to Richemont has said it was committed to keeping Lancel as well as its other leathergoods brand Dunhill, both have which have recently undergone extensive restructuring. 

Piquadro has said it expects to complete the acquisition in the first half of 2018.
