The Bridge helps Piquadro to strong sales growth

04/05/2018
Italian leathergoods company Piquadro has reported revenue of €97.6 million for the financial year that ended on March 31. This is an improvement of 28.6% compared to the previous year.

Sales for the Piquadro brand were up 4.3%, driven by a rise of 19.7% in online sales. Comparable retail sales for the brand were 3.3% higher.

The Bridge, which Piquadro acquired at the end of 2016, finished the year with revenue of €23.76 million. It contributed 24.6% to the Piquadro group’s consolidated growth over the 12-month period.

The group saw 76% of its total sales come from its domestic market, which generated 31.3% more revenue year on year. Sales from the rest of Europe grew 33.6%, but revenue from non-European countries fell 29.1%.

Earlier this year it was reported that Piquadro was in talks with Richemont to acquire French leathergoods brand Lancel. There are suggestions this deal could be completed in the coming months.
