Piquadro snaps up Tuscan brand
Italian leathergoods company Piquadro has acquired a majority stake in Florence-based Il Ponte Pelletteria, which manufactures and sells leather items through a brand called The Bridge.

Piquadro has purchased an 80% stake in the company for $3.17 million. The deal includes an option to purchase the remaining 20% between 2021 and 2023. 

The brand sells a variety of leathergoods, including handbags and accessories, with all of its products taking inspiration from the Tuscany region in which it is located. 

Marco Palmieri, president and CEO of Piquadro, described the brand as “extraordinary and unique”. He paid tribute to the craftsmanship and local feel of the products, as well as the company’s approach to dealing with environmental issues.
